About Mr Mohamed Riad

Mr Mohamed Riad is a distinguished consultant urogynaecologist and laparoscopic surgeon specialising in benign gynaecology at Spire Parkway Hospital. He has over 20 years of NHS experience in obstetrics and gynaecology, with more than a decade dedicated to urogynaecology. He is the clinical lead for the urogynaecology service at New Cross Hospital, providing specialist care for urinary incontinence, pelvic floor disorders and vaginal surgery. He combines advanced laparoscopic and vaginal surgical expertise to offer a comprehensive range of treatment options, including vNOTES hysterectomy and laparoscopic colposuspension. Mr Riad’s urogynaecology practice includes vaginal hysterectomy, uterosacral ligament suspension, pelvic floor repair, autologous fascial sling procedures, urethral bulking, cystoscopy, intravesical Botox injections, colpocleisis, sacrospinous fixation and abdominal sacrocolpopexy. In benign gynaecology, he performs laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy, laparoscopic salpingo-oophorectomy, laparoscopic hysterectomy, laparoscopic sterilisation, abdominal hysterectomy, myomectomy, operative hysteroscopy and endometrial ablation. Mr Riad performs hysterectomy using both laparoscopic techniques and the non-abdominal scar vNOTES approach. He also undertakes laparoscopic sterilisation, laparoscopic removal of the tubes and ovaries, hysteroscopy and endometrial ablation. His leadership experience has been instrumental in driving innovation within the unit at New Cross Hospital, fostering multidisciplinary collaboration and improving patient outcomes. He has championed same-day discharge, ambulatory urogynaecology services and enhanced recovery pathways. He regularly audits and monitors his surgical practice to ensure the highest standards of care. Mr Riad is strongly committed to education and training. He holds the roles of college tutor and educational lead for Gynaecology at New Cross Hospital and serves as the preceptor for Urogynaecology and Vaginal Surgery for Health Education England (HEE) West Midlands.
