About Mr Martyn P L Williams
Mr Martyn P L Williams is a consultant paediatric surgeon and urologist based in Cambridge. He specialises in treating urinary tract infections, foreskin problems, circumcision, undescended testis, hydrocoele, hernia, day and night wetting, and overactive bladders. Mr Williams qualified from the University of London in 1979 and undertook general surgical training in London, Leicester, and Liverpool. He then chose to specialise in paediatric surgery, for which he trained at the Royal Liverpool Children’s Hospital. During his training, he was awarded with the Smith and Nephew Research Foundation Fellowship, which took him to Melbourne, Australia, for two years where he was able to gain experience in the management of undescended testis. Upon returning to the UK, he underwent further surgical training in Newcastle and was appointed consultant specialist in 1995. In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Williams is an active researcher, with several published articles that cover topics such as bedwetting, urinary infections in children, hypospadias, laparoscopic procedures, vesico-ureteric reflux, and pyeloplasty. He has been an examiner in paediatric surgery with the Joint Royal Colleges of Surgeons.
