About Dr Mark Williams

Dr Mark Williams is a leading consultant cardiologist based in Chertsey, London and Guildford who specialises in interventional cardiology, coronary heart disease, angina alongside chest pain, shortness of breath and hypertension (high blood pressure). He privately practises at The Runnymede Hospital, Spire St Anthony's Hospital and offers remote clinics and investigations from 77 Wimpole Street and Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital. His NHS base is St Peter's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, where he was clinical director in cardiology between June 2018 and November 2019. He is bilingual and speaks Jamaican Patois. Dr Williams is highly qualified. He has an MBBS, an MD (Res) after pursuing a clinical research fellowship in systemic scelorosis-associated pulmonary arterial hypertension at the Royal Free Hospital, and a BSc - all from the University of London. He was also awarded an MRCP (UK) and FRCP (UK) from the Royal College of Physicians (London). He completed his specialist training in interventional cardiology at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, and King's College Hospital, London. Dr Williams is a respected name in teaching, with experience of teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students. He is currently an honorary senior lecturer at St George's Medical School, University of London. He has received three teaching excellence awards as nominated by his students in his time there. Dr Williams has received further accolades, including a Clinical Excellence Award, the Association of Commonwealth Universities Prize and the Sir Edward Boyle Memorial Trust Award. He was also awarded the Sir John Cass Foundation Award. He is is a member of various professional organisations including the Royal College of Physicians (RCP), the General Medical Council (GMC) and the Medical Protection Society (MPS). He is also a member of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society (BCIS).
