About Mr Mark Edmondson

Mr Mark Edmondson is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in the hip and knee, including hip replacements, hip revision, knee replacement, knee revision, knee arthroscopy, meniscal repair, and hip and knee arthritis. His practice is based in Hove and Haywards Heath. Mr Edmondson qualified from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in 2001, and undertook surgical orthopaedics training in the South East Thames rotation. During this time, he was awarded a fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons. He then went to Australia for two years to complete advanced training in hip and knee arthroplasty, before a further fellowship upon his return to the UK in complex trauma and limb reconstructions at the Major Trauma Centre, in Brighton. He has been a consultant orthopaedic surgeon since 2014. Mr Edmondson is the lead clinician for hip fracture surgery at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals, a service that has maintained a high standard of care. In addition to his clinical practice, he dedicates time to teaching surgeons and junior doctors about joint replacements of the hips and knees, and trains on fracture fixation around joints and joint replacements.
