About Mr Ken Stewart

Mr Ken Stewart is a consultant plastic surgeon in Edinburgh who specialises in chin enhancement, neck liposuction and facial fat transfer, alongside upper and lower blepharoplasty, brow lift, and full, lower and short-scar facelift techniques. He practises privately at Waterfront Private Hospital and also holds an NHS consultant post with NHS Lothian. His clinical work focuses on facial aesthetic surgery, alongside reconstructive procedures, with an emphasis on safe practice and natural-looking results. His wider subspecialty interests also include ear correction for prominent ears, post-weight loss surgery, breast implant health checks, and the assessment and treatment of skin lesions such as moles, sebaceous cysts, seborrhoeic keratoses, and skin cancer, including malignant melanoma. Mr Stewart qualified in medicine from the University of Aberdeen in 1990 and later obtained an MD and FRCS (Edinburgh) in plastic surgery. He completed extensive general and plastic surgery training over a 12-year period, primarily in Scotland, with additional specialist training in Sydney, Toronto and California. His NHS career has included senior roles in Edinburgh, with experience in complex reconstructive surgery of the face, ear and body. He has held a number of national and international leadership and advisory positions, including local organiser for EURAPS in Edinburgh, NICE advisor on otoplasty and permanent injectable fillers, and founder member and treasurer of the International Society for Auricular Reconstruction. He has also contributed extensively to guideline development, conference organisation, and done editorial work for the Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. Mr Stewart is actively involved in teaching and research, supervising PhD, postgraduate and grant-based research, and is a frequent invited lecturer. He is a member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, and the European Association of Plastic Surgeons.
