About Mr Kawa Omar
Mr Kawa Omar is a highly skilled consultant urological surgeon based at King’s College Hospital. He is a leading expert in all aspects of general urology, with specialist expertise in cancers of bladder, kidneys, prostate, and testes, as well as kidney stones, benign prostate enlargement, and haematuria (blood in the urine). He is a lead for bladder cancer at King’s college Hospital. Mr Omar regularly carries out laparoscopic kidney surgery, GreenLight laser operation of the prostate, Rezum, and blue light cystoscopy for bladder cancer. He currently treats private patients at the private wing of King’s College Hospital. Mr Omar undertook his specialist urological training on the prestigious South London rotation in several renowned hospitals, including at Guy’s and King’s College Hospitals, developing complex skills in open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery. Mr Omar, who is on the GMC’s specialist register for urology, also holds a master’s degree from the University of Nottingham, which focused specifically on infertility and the effects of cancer treatment on fertility recovery. Further to his urology practice, Mr Omar is committed to quality improvement that enhances the standards and quality of care of his patients. He introduced day-case trans-urethral resection of bladder tumour at Guy’s Hospital. He also contributes to peer-reviewed journals with urological oncology publications, and regularly presents at selected national and international urology conferences. A fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, Mr Omar is also a member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons and a winner of the Anne Savage award for outstanding contribution to service in Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust in 2018.
