About Mr Julian Savage
Mr Julian Savage is a highly-qualified consultant otologist/neurotologist and ENT surgeon renowned for his expertise in otolaryngology in both adults and children. He has received advanced medical training and education from reputable institutions, equipping him with comprehensive knowledge and skills in ENT surgery. He currently practises at The ENT Consultancy clinic and particular areas of expertise include hearing loss, otology, dizziness, paediatric ENT, middle ear surgery, and middle ear implants. Over the years, Mr Savage has gained extensive experience working in esteemed hospitals and medical centers both in the UK and in Canada, where he has performed complex surgeries and provided expert consultations. His areas of sub-specialisation include the treatment of ear disorders such as ear infections, balance disorders, and tinnitus, as well as nasal and sinus conditions like sinusitis, nasal obstructions, and allergic rhinitis. Additionally, he addresses throat and voice disorders, including tonsillitis, voice disorders, and throat cancers, and has expertise in head and neck surgery, particularly in dealing with tumours, thyroid disorders, and facial plastic surgery. He qualified from Guys and St Thomas’s Hospitals in 1996 and spent the majority of his basic and higher surgical training in the Southwest of England during which he discovered not only his passion for ENT in particular diseases of the ear but also undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. He then went on to undertake an 18-month Fellowship in Otology and Neurotology at the prestigious Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada in 2010. Here he gained experience in diseases of the lateral skull base, including chronic middle ear disease, hearing loss and balance disorders under the supervision of two world renowned Otologists. It was during his fellowship when he was recruited by the University of Sherbrooke in Quebec, a renowned centre for innovative medical education. He was the tertiary otologist for the region of southeast Quebec in Canada, practicing in both English and French, for 12 years and has single-handedly managed complex diseases of the ear and balance, gaining regional, provincial and national repute. He has also been involved on a regional and national level for both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education in Canada where he is only the second ENT surgeon ever to have received a national award for his contributions. Mr Savage is now a consultant ENT surgeon at the Royal Berkshire Hospital where he has been in post since January 2024. Mr Savage has also contributed to the medical field through research and publications in peer-reviewed journals, focusing on advancements in surgical techniques and innovative treatments for ENT conditions. As an active member of several professional organizations, he stays updated with the latest developments in his field.
