About Dr John Seymour

Dr John Seymour is a respected respiratory medicine specialist based in Surrey. He is renowned for his expertise in breathing problems, cough, asthma, sleep apnoea and other respiratory diseases, including lung cancer. Dr Seymour qualified in medicine at the University of Oxford in 2001, having previously completed a first class honours degree in physiological sciences. He then pursued further training, including elective study periods in South Africa and Australia. He was awarded membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2004. Dr Seymour undertook his specialist training in respiratory medicine in London, going on to undertake positions at the Royal Brompton Hospital, Kings College Hospital and St George’s Hospital. He was awarded an esteemed clinical research fellowship from the British Lung Foundation and later a PhD from the University of London. Dr Seymour produced extensive academic work and has been published in high-impact peer reviewed journals. He has been an invited speaker at key international conferences, delivering presentations and symposia to both the European Respiratory Society and the American Thoracic Society. Dr Seymour has been a Consultant at Frimley Park Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Surrey since 2011, having served as Chief of Medicine from 2015 - 2020. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2016, and is currently the Deputy Medical Director. He sees patients in his private practice at Frimley Park Hospital’s Parkside Suite and Spire Clare Park Hospital, Farnham.
