Ms Heena Mehra is a highly experienced consultant gynaecologist based in London who delivers personalised, compassionate care across all aspects of women’s health. Her areas of expertise include heavy periods, fibroids, endometriosis, the menopause, ovarian cysts and recurrent miscarriage. She also provides contraception advice and management for vulval conditions, as well as fertility investigations, and care for early pregnancy complications. Ms Mehra consults privately at The Blackheath Hospital and LIPS Healthcare. With over 20 years’ experience, she also leads various specialist clinics, including one-stop diagnostic gynaecology services and clinics for early pregnancy, fertility and outpatient hysteroscopy. Her NHS base is at University Hospital Lewisham. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Ms Mehra leads the early pregnancy unit at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, and is also involved in the regional development of gynaecology services within the South East London Network. She is highly proficient in both laparoscopic (keyhole) and open surgery, and played a key role in introducing advanced treatments to her trust, such as HyCoSy and Sonata procedures. Ms Mehra qualified from the University of Rajasthan in 2002. She later pursued a Master of Surgery and then completed accredited programmes in early pregnancy ultrasound scanning and the management of acute gynaecology at King’s College London. Before relocating to the UK, Ms Mehra also gained valuable experience working in obstetrics and gynaecology in India. Furthermore, Ms Mehra holds esteemed membership to the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, as well as the British Menopause Society and the British Society of Gynaecology Endoscopy. She also participates in the training and medical education of junior doctors, and has been a speaker at national and international conferences. Ms Mehra is highly regarded for her calm, empathetic and clear approach.
