About Mr Harbhajan Plaha

Mr Harbhajan Plaha is a top consultant orthopaedic surgeon based in Brentwood with over 40 years of experience. His areas of expertise lie in hip and knee replacements; hand surgery; foot and ankle surgery; knee arthroscopy; as well as soft tissue and joint injections and manipulation. He began his post-graduate medical training in 1972 in India, obtaining his fellowship from the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Bombay in 1975 and masters in surgery from the University of Bombay. He received broad general, paediatric and vascular surgery training whilst working in major trauma centres in Bombay. He also obtained knowledge in plastic surgery, maxillo-facial surgery and the management of upper and lower limb injuries, building up a comprehensive understanding of different surgical specialities before pursuing a career in orthopaedics. After moving to England, he continued training in orthopaedics where he obtained an FRCS Edinburgh, FRCS England & FRCS (Orth) Edinburgh. He finished his training in orthopaedic surgery in many different hospitals in London. Mr Plaha is now a leading consultant orthopaedic surgeon practising at the Nuffield and Spire Hartswood Hospitals in Brentwood, Essex. He has a special interest in both hand and foot surgery and lower limb reconstructive surgery. Mr Plaha published widely and frequently attends training courses in the UK and around Europe to stay up-to-date with new techniques.
