About Mr Gurdip Chahal

Mr Gurdip Chahal is a consultant orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon in Leamington Spa, who specialises in foot and ankle surgery, ankle arthritis and flat foot correction, alongside plantar fasciitis, bunions, hammer toe, sports injuries and minimally invasive surgery. He privately practises at Nuffield Health Warwickshire Hospital and his NHS base is South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Chahal completed his medical degree at the University of Leicester in 2008 (MB ChB) before undertaking his orthopaedic academic foundation training on the prestigious Warwick Orthopaedic Surgical Training Programme — one of only two academic training posts of its kind in the country. He then progressed through eight years of surgical training across Warwickshire and the West Midlands, gaining expertise in both elective and trauma surgery. In 2018, he achieved his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Tr & Orth). To further refine his expertise, Mr Chahal undertook a year of advanced fellowship training at the internationally renowned Sheffield Foot and Ankle Unit under leading consultants Mr Chris Blundell, Mr Mark Davies, Ms Chadwick, Mr Howard Davies and Mr Mark Flowers. During this period, he gained extensive experience in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, including keyhole and minimally invasive techniques, ligament reconstruction, diabetic foot surgery, ankle replacements, and correction of forefoot and hindfoot deformities. Mr Chahal holds membership with several distinguished professional organisations, including the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA), the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS), the European Society for Sports Traumatology, Knee Arthroscopy & Arthroscopy (ESSKA), the International Cartilage Repair Society, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS). Mr Chahal is committed to the advancement of orthopaedic education, and regularly lectures on instructional courses for trainee orthopaedic surgeons. He plays an active role in clinical research as a member of the Warwick Hospital Research and Development Group, while his ongoing research and teaching work continue to contribute to the development of innovative surgical techniques and improved patient care in the field of foot and ankle surgery.
