About Mr Ejaz Mughal

Mr Ejaz Mughal is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with a specialist interest in knee surgery and extensive experience in hip and knee replacements. Born in Birmingham, he graduated in medicine with honours from Leeds University, receiving the William Macadam Prize in Medicine. Following basic and higher surgical training in the West Midlands and a prestigious knee fellowship in Derby, he was appointed as a consultant at Newcross Hospital, Wolverhampton. He has performed over 1,000 hip and knee replacements and has a leading practice in treating chronic kneecap instability and sports-related knee injuries in the West Midlands. Mr Mughal has pioneered treatments in alignment and ligament surgery for patella dislocations, publishing the world’s largest series on this combined technique. He is one of the few UK surgeons with significant expertise in deformity correction, including knock-knees, bow-legs, and miserable malalignment syndrome. His bespoke approach uses 3D modelling and cartilage regeneration techniques to preserve joints and optimise outcomes. In addition, he performs high volumes of partial knee replacements, often as daycase procedures, and thousands of spinal injections for lower back pain and sciatica. In addition to his clinical work, Mr Mughal has contributed significantly to research in knee surgery, presenting at international conferences and publishing extensively on patella stabilisation techniques. He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Mr Mughal continues to innovate and expand his orthopaedic practice, providing personalised care using the latest technology and evidence-based techniques.
