About Dr Eirini Merika

Dr Eirini Merika is a leading consultant dermatologist, based in London, who specialises in adult and paediatric dermatology, including the treatment and management of acne, rosacea, atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. She is also an expert in skin cancer and regularly performs skin surgery services for skin cancer, non-melanoma skin cancer (such as basal cell carcinoma) and benign skin lesions. Dr Merika currently sees patients at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where she is also the Service Director for dermatology and the Clinical Lead for the newly-launched acne service, and practises privately at Montrose Clinic London. She has also served as the Local Training Lead for Dermatology, and has participated in local and national training committees. Dr Merika qualified from University College London in 2007 with an intercalated Bsc in Human Genetics. She became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2010 and a fellow nine year later, having obtained the Specialty Certificate in Dermatology earlier on. On the GMC’s specialist register for dermatology, Dr Merika is also an active member of various medical organisations, including the British Association of Dermatologists, the British Society of Dermatological Surgery and the Royal Society of Medicine. Further to her clinical work, Dr Merika continues to maintain a strong interest in research. She has been the principal investigator for a major Jak inhibitor clinical trial in atopic dermatitis and investigator in other clinical trials in atopic dermatitis and paediatric psoriasis.
