About Mr David Hollinghurst
Mr David Hollinghurst is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in Swindon, Wiltshire, specialising in hip and knee conditions in both adults and children. He has particular expertise in knee arthroscopy, ACL reconstruction and arthroscopic meniscectomy as well as the management of patellofemoral disorders, osteoarthritis of the hip and hip arthroscopy. He privately practises at The Ridgeway Hospital and at Great Western Hospitals Private Healthcare - Paediatrics, while his NHS base is Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Additionally, he's an honorary consultant at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and Oxford Children’s Hospital. Mr Hollinghurst completed his medical training at the University of Cambridge, graduating in 1996, and went on to undertake orthopaedic training in Oxford. During this time, he was awarded a Research Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England to investigate the function of knee replacements. His training was further enhanced by fellowships at Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne, British Columbia Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, and a visiting fellowship in young adult hip surgery at Children’s Hospital Boston. Mr Hollinghurst has trained extensively in both adult and paediatric orthopaedics, gaining valuable experience in four international healthcare systems. This broad background allows him to offer tailored surgical solutions for patients of all ages, particularly younger, active individuals and athletes. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and a member of the British Orthopaedic Association, British Association for Surgery of the Knee, British Society for Children’s Orthopaedic Surgery and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.
