Mr Aruna Munasinghe is a highly skilled and experienced ​consultant bariatric, upper GI, general, and laparoscopic surgeon, having trained at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital and further refined his expertise through postgraduate training at several leading centres across London, the South East, and the West Midlands. He notably completed a research placement at Imperial College London and went on to undertake a prestigious fellowship in Bariatric and Complex Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery at St George’s Hospital in London. Mr Munasinghe currently practices within the NHS at Bedfordshire Hospitals, where he serves as the clinical lead for Safety and Clinical Governance. He is deeply committed to placing patient welfare at the heart of his clinical work. Alongside his NHS and private practice, where he upholds the highest standards of care, Mr Munasinghe is also actively involved in surgical training. He teaches bariatric surgery, keyhole hernia repair, trauma surgery, and endoscopy. He offers a wide range of general surgical procedures, with a focus on minimally invasive (keyhole) techniques wherever appropriate, helping to reduce post-operative pain and support faster recovery times.
