About Mr Andy Jones
Mr Andy Jones is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in knee surgery in Cardiff and South Wales. He specialises in robotic knee surgery, knee replacement and partial knee replacement, alongside sports injuries, knee arthroscopy and ligament surgery. He privately practises at Nuffield Health The Vale Hospital and his NHS base is at the University Hospital of Wales, part of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. Mr Jones has expertise in the full range of knee conditions, treating patients of all ages with both degenerative and sports-related problems. His areas of focus include knee replacement, partial (unicompartmental) knee replacement, arthroscopic meniscectomy and ligament reconstruction. He regularly performs minimally invasive keyhole surgery and has a particular interest in joint preservation techniques such as osteotomy. He also carries out patella stabilisation procedures and offers robotic-assisted knee replacement using MAKO technology. After qualifying with honours from University College London in 2010, Mr Jones undertook further training in Oxford, Australia and South Wales. He completed his orthopaedic training on the Severn Rotation, gaining experience with a number of internationally respected surgeons. He later completed fellowship training in Cardiff before taking up his current consultant post. Mr Jones is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and a member of both the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Association for Surgery of the Knee.
