About Mr Amit Kumar Bhargava
Mr Amit Bhargava is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in the foot and ankle and based at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital. His range of expertise includes bunion removal, osteoarthritis of the foot, Achilles tendon surgery, ankle arthroscopy, sports injuries of the foot and ankle, and flat foot correction. He regularly employs minimally invasive approaches such as keyhole surgery. Mr Bhargava qualified in 1990 from Maharishi Dayanand University in Rohtak, India. He undertook specialist training in trauma and orthopaedics in the Northern Deanery in Newcastle upon Tyne, and has completed three fellowships regarding foot and ankle surgery at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Heath Hospital in Cardiff, and Avon Orthopaedic & Trauma Centre in Bristol. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Bhargava is a trainer and educational supervisor for specialist registrar trainees, a role which he his passionate about. He is the lead for foot and ankle trauma and the chair the MDT meetings at Basildon University Hospital, where he has been consultant since 2016.
