About Mr Alessandro Viviano

Mr Alessandro Viviano is a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon based in central London who specialises in complex cardiac surgical procedures such as acute aortic dissections, aortic root and arch replacements, minimally invasive aortic valve replacement, coronary artery bypass with arterial revascularisation. Mr Viviano sees private patients at One Heart Clinic in Harley Street and Marylebone, at Imperial Private Healthcare, The Cromwell Hospital, The Harley Street Clinic and The Wellington Hospital as well as NHS patients at Hammersmith Hospital. He initiated his focus on cardiothoracic surgery upon qualifying in 2007 from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, and he undertook his specialisation training in Rome and later within the London Deanery at esteemed institutions such as Imperial College London, The Royal Sussex County Hospital, Guy's Hospital, and St George’s Hospital, during which he completed a MD in research at St George's University of London and King's College London. He further refined his skills with an advanced cardiac and aortic fellowship in New Zealand’s Waikato Hospital. Mr Viviano routinely performs high volume complex cardiac operation and his consistent excellent results earned him the position of leading aortic surgeon at Imperial College London. In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Viviano is the clinical governance lead for cardiac surgery and established the aortovascular multi-disciplinary team at Imperial College London. He is a successful researcher with several peer-reviewed publications under his name, and mentors junior doctors and trainee cardiothoracic surgeons within the London Deanery.
