About Mr Ajit Abraham

Mr Ajit Abraham is a leading consultant hepato-pancreatic biliary (HPB) surgeon at The London Clinic. His areas of expertise lie in gallstones, pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, pancreatitis, hernia and laparoscopic robotic surgery. Mr Abraham is the clinical lead for digestive surgery, the quality and safety lead for digestive diseases and the surgical audit and governance lead. Additionally, he has been a consultant HPB, trauma and general surgeon at the Royal London Hospital Barts Health NHS Trust since 2005. Outside of his clinic, he serves as an honorary senior lecturer at Queen Mary University and is a faculty member at the NHS Institute of Innovation and Improvement. Mr Abraham is a member of London International Patient Services (LIPS) At Barts Health, he has held many prominent positions, including the clinical director for surgery, executive group director for the Surgery and Cancer Clinical Academic Group and was chair of the boards of surgery and cancer. He also re-established and led the HPB surgical service at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in Singapore, where he provided open and minimally invasive hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgical care to the local population. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals in the areas of HPB and general surgery and is heavily involved in teaching and training at all levels such as for the MBBS, the intercollegiate FRCS and RCS courses.
