About Professor Ahmed Allam

Professor Ahmed Allam is a highly accomplished and renowned consultant ENT (ear, nose and throat) surgeon, based in Brentwood, Warrington, and London. He possesses expert knowledge in a wide range of issues related to the ENT speciality, focusing principally on dizziness, tinnitus and ear drum perforation, as well as sinus problems, stapedectomy and septoplasty. Professor Allam was awarded a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB ) in 2005 from Mansoura University, Egypt. Following this, he undertook higher surgical undergraduate and postgraduate training in a number of renowned teaching hospitals, including Manchester University Hospitals, Imperial College London, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, and Cambridge University Hospitals, where he gained a wealth of knowledge. In his career thus far, Professor Allam has performed over 4,000 surgeries in ENT, with over 1,000 in ear surgery including cholesteatoma removal, tympanoplasty (repair of ear drum perforations), ossiculoplasty and implants, as well as over 1,500 sinus surgery and skull base surgeries over the past 15 years. He has been awarded numerous fellowships. This includes a fellowship in Sheffield to specialise in otology and ear surgery (with focus on balance disorders and hearing implants), a fellowship from the American Academy Fellowship in 2013, and a fellowship in Cambridge to specialise in multiple areas, including skull base surgery, hearing implantation surgery, Ménière’s disease, otology, pituitary surgery, and endoscopic sinus surgery. Throughout his illustrious career, Professor Allam has consistently demonstrated his commitment to providing the highest standard of patient care, concentrating on the importance of trust between doctor and patient. He is dedicated not only to his patients, but also future medics, who he lectures at his former unviersity, Mansoura University in Egypt. Furthermore, until very recently, he held the coveted role of educational supervisor for the Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Trust Programme, which works to train Otolaryngology specialists in the North West. He is also a member of The Royal College of Surgeons of England and the European Board of Otolaryngology. His NHS base is at Queen's Hospital in East London.
