Insect bites and stings

Insect bites and stings are generally not serious and typically improve within a few days. However, there are instances where they can lead to infections or trigger a severe allergic reaction. Certain insect bites can also transmit diseases, such as Lyme disease from ticks, scabies from mites, and malaria from mosquitoes in specific regions. Common signs of an insect bite or sting include a lump that may appear red. On darker skin tones, the lump might be less visible, but it can still be felt.
