Ichthyosis

Ichthyosis refers to a collection of uncommon skin disorders that lead to dry and scaly skin. This condition is typically inherited, though it can also develop later in life. While there is no definitive cure, various treatments can alleviate the symptoms. The primary characteristic of ichthyosis is extremely dry, scaly skin, which may also be thick and rough in texture. It commonly affects extensive areas of the body, including the arms, legs, torso, ears, face, or even the entire body. Symptoms often manifest from birth, but they can also emerge after several months or years. In some cases, symptoms may develop later due to other health issues or as a side effect of certain medications.
