Erythema nodosum

Erythema nodosum is a condition characterised by painful, raised patches on the skin that appear red or darker than the surrounding area. While it often resolves on its own, it can occasionally indicate a more serious underlying issue, such as an inflammatory bowel disease like Crohn's disease. If you experience erythema nodosum, you might also notice flu-like symptoms occurring before or alongside the skin patches.
