Chlamydia
Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) that is transmitted through unprotected sexual intercourse (sex without a condom). The infection is treated with antibiotics, and if left untreated, it can lead to serious health issues. Many individuals with chlamydia do not experience any symptoms. However, if symptoms do occur, they may develop anywhere from one week to several months after being infected. Chlamydia can cause symptoms in women, which can affect anyone with a vagina:
Common symptoms:
A sore throat
Vaginal discharge that is not normal for you
Bleeding after sex or between periods
A burning feeling when you pee
Pain in your lower tummy
White, cloudy or watery discharge from the tip of your penis
Burning and itching around the testicles (balls) and penis
Pain and swelling in the testicles
Pain, bleeding, and discharge from your bottom
Eye redness, pain and discharge
