Bacterial vaginosis
Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is a frequent reason for abnormal vaginal discharge. While BV is not classified as a sexually transmitted infection (STI), it may heighten your chances of contracting an STI like chlamydia. Around 50% of women with bacterial vaginosis may not show any symptoms. Typically, BV does not lead to soreness or itching. If you are uncertain whether you have BV, it’s advisable to explore other potential causes of unusual vaginal discharge.
