Altitude sickness
Altitude sickness can occur when you are at a high elevation. Typically, it improves within a few days with adequate rest, but in some cases, it can become serious and require medical intervention. This condition is likely to develop in areas situated at high altitudes, generally above 2,500 metres (8,200 feet) above sea level. The risk increases if you ascend to these heights rapidly. It is important to note that altitude sickness does not occur in the UK.
