Alcohol misuse
Alcohol misuse refers to drinking in a harmful manner or having a dependency on alcohol. To minimise health risks associated with alcohol, it is recommended that both men and women do not consume more than 14 units per week on a regular basis. A unit of alcohol is equivalent to 8g or 10ml of pure alcohol. For example, a small glass of wine (125ml, with an alcohol by volume of 12%) contains roughly 1.5 units of alcohol.
